Thank you for volunteering with our organization to cook food for homeless shelters and community fridges. Your contribution makes a significant impact on the lives of those in need. To ensure a smooth and organized process, please follow the guidelines below:
1. Dish Selection:
– Choose one dish from the following options: cupcakes, sandwiches, or macaroni and cheese.
– Inform your designated point of contact about your dish selection.
2. Recipe Selection:
– Volunteers are free to select a recipe of their choice for the dish they have chosen.
– Please ensure that the recipe does not contain nuts or dairy products.
– We have individuals with allergies and dietary restrictions, so it’s important to avoid these ingredients.

4. Schedule Coordination:
– Select a day of the week and time that works best for you. This can be a weekend too.
– Notify your point of contact at least a week in advance, allowing us to coordinate with the recipient organization effectively.
5. Delivery Location:
– Talk to the Admin once you know what you will be preparing and when.
– Notify your point of contact about your chosen delivery location.
6. Driver’s License Requirement:
– If you are responsible for delivering the meals yourself, please ensure that you possess a valid driver’s license. If you cannot drive or do not have a license, let us know and we will work with the shelter to try to arrange for a pickup.
– This requirement is necessary to comply with transportation regulations and ensure the safety of our volunteers.
7. Food Photography Guidelines:
– As a nonprofit organization, we encourage volunteers to capture photos of the food they prepare.
– These photos may be used for social media posts, fundraising campaigns, or to promote our cause.
– When taking photos, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
a) Ensure the food is well-presented and visually appealing.
b) Use good lighting and angles to highlight the dish’s features.
c) Avoid including any identifiable individuals in the photos without their consent.
d) Share the photos with your point of contact for review and approval before posting them on social media.
e) Use our organization’s designated hashtags and tags when sharing the photos.
